Unity 2017.1 launch marks the start of new engine cycle

Unity has officially launched the latest version of its popular game engine, Unity 2017.1.
The release marks the beginning of the Unity 2017 cycle, and is packed with a slew of features like the much talked about Cinemachine smart camera system and Timeline visual organisation tool.
Other notable additions include a Post-Processing Stack that lets users easily apply realistic filters to scenes using film industry tech, and Unity Teams, a set of features and solutions that aims to simplify the way creators work together.
A variety of further improvements have also been made to the engine’s particle and animation systems, the latter of which has been completely overhauled to improve keyframing workflow.
Naturally, there’s a ton of other tweaks and additions that will be of particular interest to Unity devs, so it’s worth checking out the Unity blog for a comprehensive rundown.
